Temperance
Tarot Card Number 14 of the Major Arcana
|
A winged angel, with the sign of the sun upon his forehead and the square and triangle of the number seven on his breast is a figure that is neither male nor female. It pours the essences of life from chalice to chalice and has one foot on the earth and one on the water. A direct path goes up to heights that are on the verge of the horizon and above there is a great light, through which a crown can be seen.
The secret of eternal life is being symbolized in this card. It is called temperance because it combines and harmonizes the psychic and material natures. Under the rule of temperance, we know in our rational mind something of where we came and where we are going. |
| Temperance is a card that represents economy, moderation, frugality, management, and accommodation. |
